A baby monitor is already helpful as it is but a video baby monitor takes it up a notch with its remarkable features and functions. You can see your baby even without monitoring them 24/7 physically.
A video monitor comes with a transmitter and receiver. That transmitter is placed in your baby's room. Some have a pan and tilt camera that lets you operate the position of the camera at a remote distance so you can see your baby even when they go out of the camera's line of vision.
The receiver is equipped with an LED display screen that will let you see all the activities of your baby. They either come in black and white form or colored screens.
There are, however, constraints with using baby monitors. It has a limited signal. The distance is good but if you need better baby monitoring, you may need a wider range than that.
Usually, a video monitor is equipped with 900MHz of frequency signals. If you need to cover more distance, you might need a power booster. Use the power booster and connect it to the transmitter antenna. Users who have tried this suggest that you need to go around the firewall first before it can work perfectly well.
This takes a bit of knowledge in wireless technology though as you will have a problem with signal interference. That means other signals will be picked as a result of boosting the range of your video monitor. Because of this, it might lead to static lines in your monitoring. You might want to seek the help of a professional expert in wireless technology as it is a challenge to set it up on your own with limited knowledge.
It is also interesting to note that baby monitors brands today have made the signals of their products stronger and clearer. It can pick signals from the transmitter at a wider range which is perfect for people living in a big house.
Also, you have to search for one that can pick up signals despite the buildings blocking in your neighbourhood. This actually prevents a clear signal. Don't expect much from a baby monitor. There are really good brands out there with wider and clearer signal but they can, in no way, replace your physical monitoring.
You can stretch their benefit by using the method mentioned earlier though and this should improve its benefits up a bit.
